NUTMEG ESSENTIAL OIL
Derived from an evergreen tree capable of growing 20 meters in height which produces a fleshy red fruit that is then dried. The exterior husk is dried and produces Mace while the seeds produce Nutmeg. In the 12th century, Hildegard of Bingen cited it in her herbal, the first known textbook on the medicinal use of herbs.

COMMON USES:Prized as a culinary spice in ancient China. Used for embalming by the ancient Egyptians. By the 8th century it was commonly used in Britain. Today it is used by the food and cosmetics industries, as well as aromatherapists and naturopathic practitioners.
CAUTIONS: For external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals. A skin test is recommended prior to use, dilute prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
STORAGE: It is recommended that oils be packaged in colored glass or metal containers to protect the oil from air/light/moisture, keep it fresh, maintain the maximum shelf life, and for safe shipping.
